Key concepts

Every other page assumes these terms. They are worth five minutes.

The tenant. Almost all data in InsightsRN belongs to exactly one company, and users only ever see their own company’s data. A company is usually a brand or a marketing agency.

Companies are created through onboarding. Account status is managed by InsightsRN rather than from inside the app — contact support if your account’s status needs to change.

A person who signs in. Every user belongs to a company and carries one role inside it:

The brand a campaign is run for. Agencies running work for several brands use clients to keep campaigns separated and reportable per brand. A company doing only its own marketing may have just one.

A content creator — a KOL, influencer or partner channel — whose social accounts InsightsRN reads metrics from. A publisher record holds the identifiers and connected credentials for that creator’s accounts: Facebook page, Instagram account, YouTube channel and TikTok account.

Publishers connect their accounts through a collaboration flow, which is what authorises InsightsRN to read their metrics. Without a live connection, a publisher’s deliverables cannot be crawled.

A unit of work for a client over a period of time. A campaign holds its deliverables, its aggregated statistics and KPIs, its sharing settings, and its reports.

The core object of the platform. One piece of published content, on one platform, by one publisher, belonging to one campaign — a Facebook reel, an Instagram story, a YouTube video, a TikTok.

Each deliverable type has its own form fields and its own set of metrics, because each platform exposes different numbers. The full list is in Supported platforms and deliverable types.

The scheduled background job that calls each platform’s API and stores the latest metrics for a deliverable. Numbers in InsightsRN are therefore as of the last successful crawl, not live — which is the single most common source of “our numbers look wrong” questions.

Crawled per-deliverable metrics, aggregated up to the campaign. KPIs are the campaign-level targets those aggregates are measured against.

A presentation of a campaign’s results — viewable in-app, exportable, and shareable through a public link that does not require the recipient to have an InsightsRN account.

Your subscription determines what your company may do: how many campaigns, how many deliverables per platform group, and which features are available. Limits are enforced in the app — see Subscription and billing.
